Glee Club - Tuesdays
Have you been hit by the Glee phenomenon? Here’s
your chance to be part of Boston’s very own Glee
Club. If you enjoy singing and want to be part
of a new modern and funky choir then this is
your chance to shine. Sessions will help develop
confidence, vocal range, breathing harmony and
learning new songs that will lead to
competitions and festivals. There is also the
opportunity to perform at the Royal Albert Hall.
Glee Club members will also have the opportunity
to showcase their talents at performances
throughout the year . Glee Club is open to
children aged 8 to 18 and is a great way to
learn new skills, have fun, make new friends and
develop singing and movement techniques.
Glee Club (age 8 to 18) 5pm – 6pm.
All classes run from week commencing Monday 6th
September to week ending Friday 3rd December. 12
week course costs £54, monthly payment option
available. If you pay the full term in advance
(by Monday 6th September) you will receive the
final session free and will only be required to
pay £49.
Blackfriars Dance Academy
Blackfriars Dance Academy offers professional
dance tuition to children of all ages. Great way
to keep fit, learn new skills, make new friends
have fun and perform throughout the year.
Classes start in September but places are
limited, so book now.
Diversity Dance – Mondays
Come and learn your favourite moves based upon
the UK’s favourite dance troupe Diversity,
incorporating a mix of hip-hop, lyrical and
contemporary these high-energy classes will also
combine popping, locking and breaking as well as
freestyle, A MUST for all Diversity fans.
Juniors (age 5 to 8) 4.30 to 5.30pm
Inters (8 to 11) 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Seniors (12 to 18) 6.30pm to 7.30pm
Street Dance – Wednesdays
Street Dance is a vibrant, high-energy class
which starts with a structured physical warm-up
to stretch and strengthen the body, then moving
into spins, kicks and leaps across the floor
followed by a fun and funky routine that
wouldn’t look out of place on MTV.
Juniors (age 5 to 8) 4.30 to 5.30pm
Inters (8 to 11) 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Seniors (12 to 18) 6.30pm to 7.30pm
Advance Class (15+) 7.30 to 8.30

Blackfriars Theatre Academy 2010-2011
Blackfriars Theatre Academy (www.blackfriarstheatreacademy.com) provides
professional training in all areas of the
performing arts for children aged 4 to 18 and is
Blackfriars Theatre’s resident youth theatre. In
September the academy is being re-launched and
members will enjoy new benefits to enhance their
experience in this incredibly fun and vibrant
community group, there has never been a better
time to join, so if your child enjoys acting,
singing and dancing then book their place now.
From September 2010 to July 2011 children will
enjoy the following benefits:
1. Each of the three academy groups will be
taught by professional tutors who all have West
End and professional performing experience.
2. Children will take part in two full-scale
productions during the year that will be
performed at Blackfriars Theatre, Boston.
3. We will be holding two parents evenings to
discuss your child’s development and to assess
each child’s progress at the academy.
4. To celebrate the childrens’ achievements we
will be holding our first annual B’Oscars Prom
Party.
5. There will be opportunities to take theatre
craft and musical theatre exams with the IDTA
exam board.
6. Members will be able to perform in local and
national festivals and performance events.
Blackfriars Theatre Academy is split into the
following groups:
Little Stars – Saturdays 10am to 11.30am (age 4
to 7 years). £86 per 12 week term.
Super Stars – Saturdays 11.30am to 1.30pm (age 8
to 11 years). £114 per 12 week term.
Mega Stars – Saturdays 2pm to 4pm (age 12 to 18
years). £114 per 12 week term.
2010 autumn term dates are Saturday 4th
September to Saturday 4th December (please note
there are no sessions on October 23rd and
October 30th.
Productions for the forthcoming year include
‘West End’ to ‘Christmas’, ‘Glee – The Musical’,
and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ according to which group
your child is in, for each production there will
be one full day of extra rehearsals for chorus
members and two full days rehearsals for
principal parts, No other extra rehearsals will
be held except the technical and dress rehearsal
for each show. Places for all classes are
limited.
