Blackfriars Online Performers Festival - Community Project

Tuesday 30th June

Here at Blackfriars Theatre we are missing all of the wonderfully talented local groups and individuals that fill our stage throughout the year and it is heart breaking that we currently don’t know when we will be able to showcase all of you wonderfully talented people ‘LIVE’ on our stage again.

However, fear not with support from Arts Council England we want to continue to bring you real life performances from local Lincolnshire people via the wonders of the internet. So we are Launching our first ever Online Performers Festival.

Blackfriars Theatre invite all of you born performers out there to send us recordings of you doing what you are good at –  you could be anything from a Magician to an Acrobat, a Classical Shakespearean actor to a Pop singer – we don’t mind we just want to entertain all those people out there who can’t come and see you live on stage at the moment.  There’s no deadline, once we start receiving the clips we will start posting them and as long as you keep sending them we will continue to post them until we are able to bring back live performances to the Blackfriars Stage… who knows perhaps we will put together a concert showcasing some of the talent we find live onstage!! (As soon as we are allowed!)

So what’s the catch? There isn’t one – there is no fee, no talent restrictions you can be a professional performer or someone who just likes to sing in the shower or entertain your friends with a few jokes around the picnic table. All you need is to be based in Lincolnshire and have a talent that you want to share with the world…or Blackfriars followers at least!

How to take part:- Easy – Email your clip to us at marketing@blackfriarsartscentre.co.uk along with the signed agreement confirming your details and the online disclaimer*. Under 18’s must have written permission from a parent or guardian to be included. Then sit back and wait to see yourself appear. Clips must be a maximum of 5 mins long and if they are big files please use, We Transfer or similar to send over.

Download the Agreement here.

We will be posting them on our Facebook page and linking with Twitter and Instagram so make sure you follow us.

So without further ado I’m excited to launch our first ever Online Performers Festival.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
