Blackfriars Covid-19 Community Project - Art Installation

Saturday 23rd May

Blackfriars Theatre have been lucky enough to secure some Arts Council Funding to help us to provide a number of Community Projects over the next 6 months, and we'd love you to get involved.

Covid-19 has put a lot of uncertainly over performing arts across the country, but here at Blackfriars we are working hard to ensure that with your help, our theatre will be here for you when this is all over.

We are delighted to announce our first big project is going to be a beautiful piece of permanent artwork all the way up the spiral staircase from the Foyer to the Top Studio.

We are asking the people of Boston to help us design this, by coming up with a design for a brick face. The winners will get their work incorporated into the final design by the lovely and talented local artist Jo Warrick. How amazing is that?!

So... 'What Does The Theatre Mean To You?' Share this far and wide, any age, any ability, we want this to be a real community celebration of our lovely little theatre.

Please send your entries to Blackfriars Arts Centre, Spain Lane, Boston PE21 6HP or email your designs to theatremeanstome@blackfriarsartscentre.co.uk

Join our Blackfriars Covid-19 Community Projects group on Facebook to keep up to date with all of our projects as we release them.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
