Blackfriars Theatre are recruiting - Creative Director

Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre are recruiting a Creative Director to head up their new Arts Council NPO projects.  This is a 3 Year Contract with a view to extending subject to funding.

Purpose of the Job: to lead the artistic programme and the strategic development of the company in line with our new Arts Council NPO status.

The responsibilities for this role are vast and include, but are not limited to, developing and implementing a Business Plan, providing inspirational leadership to deliver the artistic programme and visions, seeking out and nurturing collaborative partnerships, future planning, generate funding opportunities and working closely with the Board of trustees.  

Importantly this person will be an ambassador and leading voice for Blackfriars in sector, social and political circles, promoting the organisation to a range of stakeholders, including audiences, participants, artists, donors, funders, businesses, local authorities and other public bodies and other leaders. Act as a key company spokesperson for the media as required and whilst not a key requirement, we’re keen to embrace the diverse culture that Boston has and are open to receiving applications from talented individuals who feel they can represent that.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
