Light It In Red - Tuesday 11th August 2020

Saturday 8th August

Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre are supporting the #LightItInRed campaign again this month!

With the huge issues that the Theatre and Entertainment sector are facing during the Covid19 pandemic, the aim is to raise awareness and support for all of those that are suffering in our industry. We joined in last month and made our Theatre look beautiful in red, as we stood in solidarity with other venues across the UK.

Created and managed by a UK based production company, Clearsound Productions Ltd, and in partnership with the Backstage Theatre Jobs forum, it is inspired by Germany's #NightOfLight2020.

We will be lighting up Blackfriars Theatre in red from the outside this time - Tuesday 11th August at 9pm. We encourage you to share the event on Facebook with the #LightItInRed hashtag to help build awareness to the crisis in our industry. Join us at 9pm on our Facebook page to see the building and listen to a message from our Chairman, Stuart Bull.

Having been forced to close the theatre since March, we have all been directly affected by the Covid19 crisis and sympathise with what is happening within the industry, all over the world.

The entire Theatre industry urgently needs help to continue during the crisis so that we can return to entertain the nation when it is safe!

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
