The Marriage of Figaro

Cancelled The Marriage of Figaro

Heritage Opera
Sunday 21st June at 7.00pm

Tickets £28**

Due to the current guidelines Heritage Opera have cancelled their tour and performance here at Blackfriars Theatre.

We are working with them to get a new date in the diary - probably some point in 2021.

Heritage Opera and Blackfriars Theatre thank you for your understanding and continued support during this difficult time.

Heritage Opera presents Mozart's sunniest comedy. Ravishing melodies accompany a farcical story centring on the wedding day of Seville's favourite barber, Figaro, to the winsome Susanna, maid to the Countess Almaviva. The only fly in the ointment is the Countess's errant husband, the Count, who has designs of his own on Susanna. The plot thickens, with a randy pageboy hiding in a cupboard, a drunken gardener making a nuisance of himself, bridesmaids, letters, secret assignations in the garden, shocking revelations, and, eventually, a happy ending!

Heritage Opera, Northwest England’s professional touring opera company, returns to Boston with this masterpiece of classical opera. Sung by a cast of 9, in a hilarious new English translation, accompanied by small orchestral ensemble.

**Prices include a 50p per seat 'refurbishment' levy.

Blackfriars Theatre is run predominately by volunteers, we don't charge an admin fee and don't intend to. The full levy plus gift aid, if applicable, will create a special fund to help maintain and refurbish the towns precious traditional little Theatre. This fund will also allow us to seek 'match funding' opportunities to enhance your theatre experience.

Thank you for your support and understanding. We hope you Enjoy the Show and encourage others to Keep Theatre Live in Boston.

Blackfriars undoubtedly plays a very important role as Boston's centre for entertainment and the arts. It is home to two very successful local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, as well as hosting a varied program of professional stage productions.
